Sara and Matt’s engagement session was different than any other engagement session I have ever done, simply because I got to relive their proposal with them, and it was so sweet. Matt proposed to Sara at one of her favorite places in Raleigh, Lake Johnson Park. As we walked around the lake taking their pictures, it dawned on me that we could walk the same trail and go sit on the same bench where they got engaged, so that’s what we did. And here’s the best part: Sara and Matt narrated the whole thing. From that moment on, I felt like I knew them in a whole new light and something beautiful in our session happened, I could tell that they were completely comfortable in their own skin in front of the camera.
I love these images of the two of them, because I feel like they capture exactly who they are. Sara is so much fun, and one of my favorite things about her is that she laughs all the time. She doesn’t take life too seriously and she loves to be with Matt. Matt is a bit more of an introvert and has a more serious side, and it’s beautiful to see how Sara pulls out this genuine, goofy side of him. In the beginning of our correspondence, Sara shared with me a pun (she loves puns!) that she wrote about the NRP team that I can’t not share with you because it makes me laugh every time! I am moving to Callie-fornia for 6 months, hoping to catch some Rays. FortuTately, Oliviantually make it back.
Congratulations Sara and Matt! Thank you for allowing me to capture this sweet season in your lives!
