Madi and Will are kindhearted, selfless, and loving. They live and move with such grace and love towards one another, it’s beautiful to observe. I was really impacted by them on their wedding day – a gorgeous warm summer day on the coast of South Carolina. Neither of them stopped smiling the entire time. It was so sweet to watch Will care for Madi when he helped her with her dress, carried her flowers, and made sure she was taken care of. He always asked her how she was feeling, made sure she had water, and wanted her to be comfortable the whole time. He couldn’t take his eyes off her – just overjoyed to have such a beautiful bride! In return, Madi was so sweet to Will – always complimenting him, encouraging him, kissing him, loving him. They were a beautiful pair, and a perfect picture of what love is.
When we arrived, we were so surprised by this incredible venue. Being that the name is “Atalaya Castle,” we assumed it was a tall, stone, prestigious castle… but it was so much better! Atalaya is a historic castle that was built as a big square of corridors and rooms, with a giant open air courtyard in the middle – full of palm trees and grass. It’s unlike any other castle I’ve ever seen. The textures, the colors, and palm trees… everything was so unique. And what I loved is that you could hear the ocean’s waves nearby!
One thing that I particularly loved about their day? Madi and Will chose to have an unplugged wedding. What a difference this made! Oh I wish every couple would do this. During the ceremony, every guest was fully attentive and present to what was happening. They were watching them exchange rings, listening attentively to every word that was spoken. They did not feel the compulsion to pick up their phones or cameras, take photos, or be preoccupied with Facebook or hashtags. It was beautiful, because everyone shared the most important moments together : fully focused, fully present.
A few other favorites? Family-style dinner, a mason jar table chart, an adorable cake, and dancing under twinkle light and colorful globes. It was magical.
I adore this couple! Madi and Will, your wedding was beautiful. Full of vibrant colors and fun, but most importantly, full of your selfless love. What a joy it was getting to know you and capturing your sweet day!
