Moments before a bride and groom’s first look, I often ask the groom, “what do you think her dress looks like?” Sometimes they respond with “I honestly have no idea” and sometimes they describe something in major detail. Regardless, I love to ask this question and watch their eyes light up as they realize what’s about to happen. When I asked Marty what he thought Kate’s dress looked like he said “Definitely form fitted and strapless.” Kate wore a stunning gown with a removable lace bolero, and I love the way that she decided to continue the surprises throughout the night. Right after the ceremony, she took off the lace bolero and did another quick first look with Marty to show him the surprise change. In the end, he was spot on.
We started by taking pictures a Hope Valley Country Club and then drove over to the American Tobacco Campus for their ceremony and reception at Bay 7. I love that Kate and Marty chose to do pictures in two completely different locations, as it gave us two beautiful but opposite backdrops for pictures. Their ceremony was heartfelt, and the newlyweds dined and danced with their guests under a ceiling of magical twinkle lights. They ended the night by running through a tunnel of sparklers and exited in a rickshaw!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Marty Pick!
