I wish that you could have felt the warmth of the Charleston sunshine. I wish you could have witnessed Emily putting her dress on with the help of her sister and mama, in front of the same mirror that her sister did several years before. I wish you could have seen the look on Todd’s face when he saw his bride for the first time. I wish you could have had the same sweet view that I did moments after their ceremony, when Emily and Todd couldn’t stop smiling and hugging and kissing just after they were married, reveling in the moment they had been waiting for for so long.
There were so many elements to this wedding day that made it so incredibly special. Every detail so lovely and breathtaking, every guest felt so cared for and honored. The light was perfect. The sunshine through the Spanish moss hanging in the trees was incredible, and the beautiful water running behind the venue made for the absolute perfect setting.
But above all of this, above the fact that it truly was a perfect Southern wedding day in every way, Emily and Todd made this day beautiful.
They love each other. They love each other so deeply. They are kind and gracious and selfless – with one another and with everyone around them. They are kind and gentle in the way that they love one another, in the way he helped carry the train of her dress, in the way she looked admiringly at her new husband. They love Jesus with everything they are, and that is evident in the way they love each other. The loyal, deep love that they carry for one another is something that can’t go unnoticed. Emily and Todd affected the atmosphere of their wedding day with a commitment of love that literally touched everything.
I really wish you could have witnessed their love for the Lord and for one another, because that, hands down, was the most beautiful thing about their wedding day.
Emily and Todd, words can’t express how grateful I was to be there to capture your wedding day. I’m so honored to have been included in one of the most beautiful, meaningful weddings I’ve ever captured! And more than that, I’m grateful to be able to call you both friends. It has been so sweet getting to know you throughout this sweet season of life!
