Throughout Emily and Matt’s entire engagement season I just kept saying what a sweet reminder they were to me to always be my husbands teammate. There was not a moment that I experienced with them that they wavered from their love for each other and the ultimate goal: to get married, and glorify God in every aspect of their wedding day. Matt and Emily got married on the very same property that they first met and began their love story. In fact, they got married at their work! You might be thinking, what? How does that work? But when you work at as beautiful of a property as Ravenscroft it makes your wedding venue options easy! They were eager and excited for their wedding day, but not because of the many little details they had planned, or the venue they were getting married in, or even the pretty dress and handsome suit they were going to wear. They had remained focused on what truly matters about a wedding day: getting to marry your best friend!
Because these two were truly excited to share in this day together and with all of their friends and family, when the skies opened up right before their ceremony, they easily rolled with the punches. We moved their ceremony back a few minutes to allow the seats to be wiped off, then the sun came out and they had the most beautiful ceremony. But that wasn’t all. The minute these two said I do and kissed, thundered roared and in just enough time to get these two back down the aisle and grab a few more pictures, the skies opened up again. And yet again, these two weren’t phased. They took this opportunity to soak in the fact that they were finally married. We waited out the rain and everyone enjoyed their dinner throughout the beautiful property. Then all of their friends and family kicked off their shoes and danced the night away under a tent in the rain. If Matt and Emily needed any reminder of just how loved they are, they got it from their friends and family. Just like the newlyweds, their friends and family were quick to still have a good time despite the unplanned rain. Matt and Emily have been such a sweet reminder to me of why I do what I do and I am so grateful to know them as both clients and friends!
