There are so many moments from this wedding that make tears fill my eyes all over again. If you read about their rehearsal dinner, you learned about the amazing people they are. But goodness, showing up on their wedding day? It took it to another level.
I arrived and the sun was shining, all the girls were piled into Ashley’s home, and joy was just tangible. Sam was doing Ashley’s hair and make up which just makes me happy, because Sam is my best friend/sis in law, and she’s Ashley’s cousin (small world!). Everything went so smoothly that day, it was perfect. Ashley had always dreamed of getting married in a chapel, so Binkley Chapel was like a dream. I also learned that Ashley and Chris met at a brunch at North Ridge Country Club, so the fact they had their reception there was so meaningful.
There were so many prayer-filled moments throughout this day that got me teary, but the one that meant the most was when Ashley surprised her parents.
A little backstory: Ashley’s sweet parents lost their wedding photos. Actually, their photographer somehow lost them years ago (worst nightmare, am I right?), and they have never had any wedding photos to display.
So when Ashley handed her mama her bouquet and told her, “I planned for you and Daddy to have some time for portraits of just the two of you,” we all cried. Yep – me included. Ashley, Mom, Dad, and me… just sitting there crying. It was so sweet, and you have to be sure to scroll down to see a sweet image from Toni and Jack’s mini wedding day session. That’s just the kind of person Ashley is.
Ashley and Chris, what a joy it was to photograph your day. It meant the world for me to capture your wedding and be your photographer – I admire you both and can’t wait to see how God uses you and your marriage in the years go come!
