The moment Jon and Amber walked into my studio to meet me for the first time, I knew I loved this couple.  They were so upbeat, friendly, and genuine, I felt like I could have sat there and talked with them for hours.  I honestly didn’t want them to leave! We began talking about wedding photography, and I have to say I was so impressed with Jon.  He busted out his notepad and paper and started taking notes on everything I was saying!  I told him how impressed I was, and he just said, “That’s just me! I’m a detailed planner and I write everything down.”   For an organization freak like myself, I LOVED it.

They proceeded to tell me they are getting married in a vineyard, and Jon himself is making many of the details involved in their big day.  Amber has the vision, and Jon makes it happen.  They go together like cookies and milk.  Seriously, they make everyone around them laugh and smile, and they bring out the best in one another.

Amber is one of the sweetest, most beautiful people you will ever meet.  She is also very thorough in her planning, and every detail of this engagement session is due to her thoughtfulness.  (Just wait until you scroll down and see these photos!)   Jon and Amber, together, chose the locations and style of this engagement session, and the more I look at these photos, the more I fall in love with them.  The creamy colors, the contrast between urban and rural, the sweet expressions on their faces… I could look at this session all day.

We began in downtown Raleigh at the Raleigh Times… The perfect location as it was where they had their first date!

Below : This was it! The place where they had their first date together. I love these next two shots…

Jon and Amber really wanted a photo with the butterfly mural, and I couldn’t be happier with the way these turned out.  We timed the lighting perfectly, and these next few might be my favorites.

After we wrapped up the first part of our session downtown, Jon and Amber told me they had two other places chosen.  They hopped in is amazing Camaro and said, “Follow us!”  Was I in for a surprise! They had driven around the week before until they found this amazing vintage-styled barn in the middle of nowhere.  They simply asked the old lady who owned it if we could use it for photos, and she gladly obliged.  He pulled his Camaro right in front of it, and look at how beautiful it turned out…

LOVE this next one so much!

The light was so creamy and beautiful…

They also wanted to tie in their vineyard inspired wedding, and they set up this amazing picnic just down the road at a local vineyard…

Best Save the Date ever!

Amber and Jon, I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be working with you.  You are the most fun, genuine couple and you have some amazing style!  Thank you for allowing me to capture this special time in your lives.
