Here we go! I’d like to welcome you to the most incredible reception you. have. ever. seen.
Before you start asking yourself all kinds of questions, I want to explain the concept behind every room and idea! In a nutshell, the entire theme was “Addie and Nasser.” It was all of their favorite things combined into one big part, and it was amazing.
Nasser’s family is from Morocco. Even though he was born in the US, his family grew up in Morocco and his dad still lives there. As soon as you entered the reception, you met Jasper – the most amazing camel – and a Moroccan themed room with poufs, candles, bright colorful drapery and lovely furniture.
As you continued into the club, you were greeted with a beautiful Eiffel tower behind the bar and a French-themed ballroom. There was a Macaron cart, and a place where you could have your caricature drawn as if you were on the streets of France. They love to travel, and Paris is one of their favorite places on earth!
A few other favorites from the couple: Harry Potter, which is why you were welcomed by Dumbledore at the guest sign in, The Beatles, which is why they had a Beatles cover band at the reception, The Panthers, which is why you were greeted by a cardboard cut out of Cam Newton in the bathroom… the details were everywhere. It was like discovering a gift behind every door!
Okay continuing on through the reception, you would find one room that was filled with beautiful real trees, touches of nature, the soundtrack of birds chirping, and a rustic feel with tree stump seats, animal skins, and a smores station. This room was an ode to their family ranch home in Yosemite – where Nasser proposed to Addie.
Of course I have to mention their love for Olive again – their sweet puppy! Nasser wore a tie that honored her, and Addie wore a jean jacket with Olive’s face on the back. So stinking cute.
There was another Moroccan room, dedicated to the delicious decor and cuisine of Morocco. I was enamored with the food spreads in this room – truly they smelled so good and looked incredible!
Lastly, I can’t forget the afterparty! After the incredible reception party, there was an after party! This might have been my favorite part of the night! (Except for Jasper of course. Jasper was my favorite!) The After Party had 2 major themes: The Office and Friends. I MEAN COME ON. This is literally the best idea I’ve ever seen. When you walked in, you had Stanley’s pretzel cart, Serenity by Jan candles, staplers in Jello, and the Office Olympics… all surrounding the dance floor. As you walked back further into the club, there was Central Perk! With the friends couch, central perk mugs, and “Addie and Nasser” printed in the Friends fonts.
I literally have no words. I have never in all my years been to a party quite like this! My hope is that anyone who is reading this who might be getting married gives themselves permission to make their wedding their very own! Break the rules, do what YOU want for your wedding day. That’s exactly what Addie and Nasser did, and it was so. much. FUN!
Addie and Nasser, you two are amazing. I love how you embrace each other’s passions, how you love to have fun, and how you are incredibly unafraid to be yourselves. What a joy it was photographing your wedding! I loved every minute!
