Buckle your seatbelts.
In all 12 years of doing wedding photography, I have never captured a wedding like this one!
Stay tuned for this two part blogpost, because you will NOT want to miss what’s coming tomorrow. (A few hints : A Camel + Dumbledore + Eiffel Tower + Staplers in Jello.)
Today’s post is all about their beautiful ceremony! Addie and Nasser held a private ceremony at her family home in Virginia on Friday, April 19th. All I could think was “Why don’t more people do this!?” It was brilliant. Relaxed and lovely, the ceremony felt intimate and never felt like we had to rush to the reception, because the reception was the following day! They said their vows outside in the loveliest garden, and then had a dinner with their closest friends and family. Nasser also NAILED the Sabrage, which is a technique for opening a champagne bottle with a saber! It was pretty awesome, and again – in all my years, I had never seen this done.
The weather forecast was unreal. Severe thunderstorms were predicted for the entire day, and I kid you not : they did not hit until we were driving back to the hotel. Yes it was raining, but ultimately we rearranged the ceremony time to make sure they got married outside! It was so lovely.
And I cannot write this blogpost without mentioning Olive, their adorable puppy! Literally, this dog is one of the best dogs I have ever encountered. She was perfect! She LOVES Addie so much and was by her side the entire day.
As you see these images and read tomorrow’s post, you will come to realize that Addie and Nasser are incredibly unique and so much fun! Crystal with Southern Posies pulled off the most incredible event – I’m still in awe of her team. I am still pinching myself that I got to be part of their wedding weekend.
Enjoy their lovely ceremony photos… the reception / party of a lifetime / extravaganza will be posted tomorrow!
