You might recognize Whitney and Nick from their beautiful Charleston wedding just one year ago. Goodness I love this couple! Not only are they beautiful and easy to photograph, they are some of the most generous people I’ve ever met. I’ll never forget how Whitney sent me a thank you note and gift after every engagement session, bridal session, and after their wedding. And of course when I met them a few weeks ago for their first anniversary session, sweet Whitney arrived with a gift for Baby Ray in hand!

Their generous hearts were especially reflected in this session because they chose to participate in The School Sessions. If you haven’t heard, The School Sessions is an organization that partnered with hundreds of photographers like myself to raise money to build a school in Haiti. 100% of the proceeds of Whitney and Nick’s session was donated to building a school that has been desperately needed since the earthquake that hit 5 years ago. As soon as Whitney heard about the opportunity, she emailed me saying they wanted to be a part of it. It was such a fulfilling afternoon, spending our time and effort together to build a school on the other side of the world, while celebrating a huge milestone as a couple : their first anniversary!

A special thanks to my friend Jen from Make up for your Day who also donated her beautiful hair and make up services to this wonderful cause! We love you Jen!
