When I hosted Emily’s baby shower, I gifted her with a photo session to be used however she’d like. I must say I was expecting for her to use it for a maternity or newborn session, but now that I have my own daughter who is a little older, I am SO glad she chose to use it in this way.
Em always told me she wanted to redeem her session when June was a little older, and when the weekend came when June was going to be dedicated in church, it dawned on Emily that both sets of June’s grandparents would also be in town. When I heard she wanted to do a “generational photoshoot,” my heart almost exploded. I kept thinking, “The grandparents will love this! What treasures these will be one day! No one has images like this! June is going to adore these the rest of her life!”
And it’s true. I think a generational photo session is something we should all consider, especially while the precious gift of grandparents are still with us. I know if I had these photos, I would treasure them immensely.
Em, you couldn’t have redeemed your session for anything more perfect. I’ll never forget the Saturday I spent capturing sweet June with her beloved parents and grandparents!
