I’ve never photographed a Rehearsal Dinner quite like this one!
Imagine this: you and your fiancé are surrounded by the most peaceful lake, yosemite-like mountains towering over you, canoes and cabins filled with meaning and memories surrounding you, and the sound of laughter and friends and family all around you. The band is playing, drinks and delicious food is being served, there’s a light mountain mist all around you, and you are in awe because THIS was the place you grew up coming to as a kid every summer. When your friends and family share toasts, you can’t hold back the tears, because it’s finally here. The time to marry your best friend is here.
That’s exactly how this pre-wedding celebration played out – like a dream.
Camp Merrie-Woode was perfect. Sarah has been coming to this camp for years, several of her bridesmaids formed their deep lifelong friendships there (including her maid of honor, who met Sarah when they were just 7 years old), and it provided the most magical setting full of meaning for this couple.
It truly set the tone for the entire weekend. I walked around and couldn’t stop smiling! I felt like I was in the Parent Trap Movie – the most perfect camp setting, and as a camp girl myself, it brought me so much joy. (I may or may not be scheming ways to send Milly there one day!)
You’ll see soon that Drew and Sarah’s Highlands wedding was even more magical than the rehearsal dinner, which says a lot. This entire weekend was honestly a privilege to be a part of. Capturing this sweet couple and their marriage celebration was such a joy – I cannot wait to share even more!
