Sometimes I don’t know what to say when I start a blogpost, and this is definitely one of those times. This time there’s just too much to say, too many memories, too much time spent with this beautiful lady who is about to be married to the man of her dreams. Photographing one of my dearest friend’s engagement sessions was one of my favorite things I’ve ever done with my camera. Get ready, because this couple is gorgeous!

Elizabeth and I met in high school, but our friendship really began when we roomed together at ASU my sophomore (her freshman) year of college. Needless to say, when you live with someone, you learn all about them.  We continued to live together for a few more years… totaling 3 years as roomies. Elizabeth and I walked through some fun, hilarious, stressful, difficult, challenging and wonderful  times together.  Studying for exams, working on photo projects together, staying up all night watching an entire season of 24, skipping classes to eat pizza and watch Gilmore Girls, taking Astronomy together and looking at galaxies in freezing-12-degree weather, crying on each other’s shoulders, laughing hysterically until we couldn’t breathe…. the list goes on and on with this one!  One thing I learned – this girl is beautiful inside and out.  I have learned so much from her, and I look up to her in so many ways. Her tender heart towards everyone around her changes the atmosphere of a room.  She is going to make one incredible wife.

And Robert…. oh Robert.  When she first started dating Robert she was immediately smitten.  She loved how straight forward, hard-working, and down to earth he was.  A guy’s guy through and through – loved his porsche, loved his job, loved his bachelor pad.  But let me tell you… Elizabeth swept him off his feet very quickly! In no time he had moved from Alabama to North Carolina, sold his Porsche, and found a new job all for her.  In the snowy woods the day after Christmas, he got down on one knee and asked for her hand.   It’s crystal clear that he would give his life for her in an instant.  The perfect match for Elizabeth.

Robert and Elizabeth, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this sweet season of engagement for you.  There’s no doubt in my mind that not only will your marriage make it, but you will be happily married, making each other laugh and enjoying life to the full when you’ve been married for 50+ years. I love you guys, and I can’t wait to stand next to you on your wedding day!

Elizabeth is an amazing photographer, so I had to include a vintage camera in a few of their shots…

Counting down the days until your wedding!  Love you guys.  xoxo.
