There are so many things I fell in love with at this wedding…
the custom family home nestled into my very favorite part of North Carolina – the blue ridge mountains, the unique look of everything since this bride has such a keen eye for details, the rustic feel of the groom who loves sasquatches (pretty much the best most random thing ever), the gorgeous color palate, the location of the ceremony and how the entire bridal party was standing on a mountain, and how they incorporated squirrels throughout the day because the couple owns The Local Squirrel – an adorable shop in Raleigh.
When you choose to get married at your family’s vacation home, there are so many logistical things to think about when accommodating a few hundred people. But this wedding felt effortless. It was so warm, so welcoming, and so beautiful. The guests had lovely fireplaces and treats and even a little pop up shop of the Local Squirrel as their souvenirs. Every guest must have felt so cared for, like they were at an exquisite hideaway cabin enjoying the sweetest celebration.
On a personal note, I had the best time photographing this wedding! Rachael and Jesse are such a unique couple, it was so easy just capturing who they were. The thing I love about them most is that they are so unique and so comfortable in who they are. As a couple, they are confident and brave and they laugh so much! Rachael has that entrepreneurial go-getter zeal about her, and Jesse is so gifted in technology and the details they are the perfect fit. Who wouldn’t love a couple like that!?
What a joy it was capturing their beautiful, private, blue ridge mountain wedding celebration! Special thanks to The Carolina’s Magazine for featuring this lovely wedding in their most recent issue!
