The anticipation was killing me as I pulled up to the Barger’s home for their newborn session. It had only been a couple months since their Maternity Session at the Arboretum, when they loved on “Baby B” and wondered… boy? girl? Which will it be?! Two months flew by, and as I pulled into the driveway I saw a baby blue bow on the mailbox. My heart turned cartwheels at the sight of that bow, just finally knowing that there was a tiny baby boy inside to photograph.

It was the perfect day to take his picture outside. So, under the screened in porch and in about 90 degree heat, sweet little Nash slept like a champ for his solo shots. I may have been dripping sweat, but he was certainly snug as a bug in a rug in his swaddle and on the bean bag.

What makes me so, so happy is that I’ll get to see these three again in just a few months, when Nash turns 6 months, and then 6 more months after that when one year has gone by since he arrived. I love following sweet story lines with really great people. Single sessions are fun, but there’s just something about seeing families grow and change that gives great meaning to my work. Thank you, Barger’s, for a great film newborn session! We’ll see you again soon!
