On a sweet October day, Megan and Matt tied the knot at the Highgrove estate. Lovely ladies with beautiful curls and make up all arrived at the same time, dresses in hand, ready to go inside and finish getting ready. Matt and his men arrived shortly after, full of smiles, ready for a party. The finishing touches, getting dressed, bridesmaids photos with smiles, groomsmen photos while it began to sprinkle, then the anticipation of all the guests arriving… it was an exciting day! Thankfully, the rain held off, and their outdoor ceremony was so sweet.

When everyone witnessed Megan and Matt’s hand fasting ceremony, I couldn’t hold back the tears. It was a beautiful and unique tradition that I had never seen before, but I certainly hope to see again. These were some of the words that their sweet Mamas read, as the minister covered their hands with a lace handkerchief, binding them together:

These are the hands that will work along side yours as together you build your first home, plant your first garden, and walk forward hand and hand into your future.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you, the only ones with the ability to comfort you like no one else can.

These are the hands that will tenderly hold your first child, the hands that hold your family together as one.

And lastly these are the hands that even when winkled and aged will still be reaching for yours as they hold you here now promising you they will never ever let you go.

Megan and Matt, thank you for including me in your beautiful wedding day.
