I can’t believe that it’s already Summer and that Clare has been with us for 4 weeks… where is the time going?! Her internship began a little differently than most of our interns (her very first day included helping us pack up our whole studio!) and she has been so graceful and understanding throughout our most recent big move of the studio! She has helped us organize and create systems in our new studio to keep everything running smoothly, put together furniture and made many runs to Target and the grocery store. Her willing spirit to learn about business and photography is a breath of fresh air and she is the most attentive assistant on wedding days. We are so grateful that Clare chose to move to Raleigh to spend her Summer with us and I am so excited for you to get to know her today! Take it away Clare!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and where you are in life right now.
I am currently a rising junior at James Madison University and studying Marketing in the business school! I’m living with my older sister this summer here in Raleigh which is super helpful and a blessing both for this internship and quality time with my sister!

Where are you from?
I am from Midlothian, VA outside of Richmond.

What attracted you to apply for this internship?
I wanted to apply for this internship because not only do I love photography and everything that goes along with it but, I love that this is a Christ-centered team! I am eager to learn as much as I can about film photography, running a business, working with a team, and doing it all for the glory of God so this internship was really exciting for me. Also, as a Marketing major I felt as though I could learn a ton from this team in terms of running and marketing their business.

What do you love about photography?
I love that photography allows us to try and capture the feelings and emotions from a particular moment. And sometimes those feelings are so sweet and joyous that you want to re-live them over and over, so having a picture that holds those feelings is so wonderful!

What are you passionate about?
I am really passionate about relationships with people, getting to know someone one-on-one is one of my favorite things!

What are some small things that make your day better?
A little time to myself in the morning to spend with Jesus, some good music, and any chance I get to sit on the front porch!

What’s the last adventure you went on?
One of the first weekends I got to Raleigh, my sister and friend from home took a trip to Wilmington, NC!

What is your favorite book?
I am not a huge reader so I am not sure I have a favorite book!

What is your favorite food?
French fries 100%

What is something that no one else knows about you?
I really wish I was a good artist/painter, I love to watercolor and hand-letter things but I am not very good!

What is your favorite thing to do on a beautiful day?
On a beautiful day, I love to explore and maybe do some sort of exercise outside! And then if I could I would be posted up by the lake or on a boat the rest of the day!

What are you excited about in the next 12 months?
After the summer here in Raleigh, which I am absolutely trying to make the most of (!!), I am so excited to go back to JMU in the fall and get settled in a house super close to campus! Now that I have two years down at school, I am excited to make the most of the last two because I really love living in Harrisonburg!

Coffee or Tea?
Coffee, for sure. Although I really like tea too!

Are you a morning person or night owl?
I like to think I am a morning person, however I really love staying up late during the summer so, night owl!

What are you grateful for right now?
I am SO grateful for the opportunity to be here in Raleigh this summer doing this internship, getting to experience a new place, and getting to work with such wonderful people!
