Just over two weeks ago, at 3:08am on Tuesday, May 26, Milly Elizabeth Ray entered the world and changed our lives forever!  She weighed in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and measured 19 inches long.

I totally understand what people talk about when being in “baby land,” because that’s where we’ve been the last couple weeks.  I can’t believe how quickly two weeks have passed, but Milly’s still so tiny!

We’re trying to establish a new sort of normal around here, and we’re thankful to have had lots of help from friends and family as we transition into this new phase of life.

You may already know this, but Nancy is amazing.  She worked so hard for our little girl during labor, and she still is doing so much to feed and care for her.  They’re both doing so great.  Milly is sleeping fairly well at night, though there are still nighttime feedings to be had.  She’s eating really well too, and was back up over her birth weight by the 10-day mark.

Nancy has already mentioned jumping on here to share more about Milly and her birth.  She’ll be doing that soon here in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned!  You can see more pics of Milly on my Instagram and Nancy’s, as well as here on the blog in the coming weeks.

Finally, a HUGE, heartfelt thank you to our wonderful friend Cheyenne Schultz for being there to document the birth and for the beautiful photo above.  (And thanks to her husband Geoff for taking care of their kids in a pinch so she could be here.)  And thanks to all of you who have sent thoughts, prayers, comments, and love our way these last couple weeks.  Thank you!
