There is a reason that we suggest that our couples choose the location for their engagement session. It makes them feel more comfortable in a place that has meaning and allows them to have pictures taken in one of their favorite spots. I love that Spencer and Madison chose to have their engagement sessions at one of my favorite places also – Atlantic Beach, NC! Madison’s family has a beautiful home on the marsh and only 10 miles down the road, Spencer’s family has a beautiful home on the beach. Not only was it the perfect place to capture two gorgeous low country scenes, but both of these locations carry so much meaning to them. Madison’s family has had their house for a while and she has spent countless weekends down there. Spencer’s family just built their home and I know they are looking forward to many weekends spent in the house with his family as a married couple. My hope for every couple is that they not only love their engagement session images because of the people in them, but because of the way that it reminds them of how they feel in that location.

After Madison and Spencer’s session, as I was driving back to Raleigh, I got a text message from Madison – “I loved our session so much! Thank you again. I told Spencer that it was therapeutic in a way.” Never have I heard a session described in that way and the more I thought about it, the more I realized how beautiful of a compliment it was. Often, I find taking pictures therapeutic, but never thought that would be something that my clients would feel, but I am so glad that Madison did.

Congratulations Madison and Spencer! I am so excited about your Angus Barn wedding next year, and hope to hang out again before then! You two are so much fun and filled with so much joy and passion for life. Thank you for allowing me to capture this sweet time in your lives.
