I won’t ever forget the Saturday afternoon when Lisa and I were catching up at Starbucks over coffee. We had been there for two hours and I asked Lisa, “When do you think you and Dave want to start a family?” She stared at me with this big Lisa smile and said, “Do you want to know a secret?” They had found out two days prior to her telling me and we beamed with joy together at that tiny Starbucks table about this precious child inside of her. So of course, we had to restart our whole conversation and we ended up staying at that table for another hour.

Lisa and I began our friendship when she moved to Raleigh three years ago to begin working for Southern Weddings. I reached out to her, hoping that she would be looking for a friend in this new city, and we’ve been friends ever since. Lisa, Dave, Jamie and I have walked through life together – dating, engaged, married (our wedding anniversaries are only one day and one year apart!) and now soon to be parents.

Baby Kirk, you are already so dearly loved and I am so excited to meet you in September! Be sure to read more about Lisa’s pregnancy and Baby Kirk on her blog!
