Lexis and Patrick are some of the kindest, light-hearted people that I have ever met. Their passion and drive is inspiring, and the way that they patiently support one other is truly remarkable. Just from the short amount of time that I was able to spend with them, there was one thing that I quickly noticed: these two are best friends. Patrick is currently in med school and Lexis is a successful PA. Together, they enjoy the little things in life like taking their precious pup, Shep on a walk, eating tacos at one of their favorite spots in Raleigh or simply attending church together (this is a rarity from them because of their schedules). In the midst of this busy season, I loved seeing how this session gave them a reason to step away from the everyday hustle and bustle and to be together to fully enjoy one another’s company.
When we were getting close to the end of the session, I asked them “Is there anything else you would like to do?” and Patrick immediately said “Do you think we could get a couple with some big trees in the background?” Almost instantly I remembered this gorgeous willow tree that was just down the hill from where we were. As it came into sight, I noticed the dreamy light and instantly fell in love. This is why I love engagement session SO much. They give me the chance to spend time with each of my couples and get to know what they love, but also to explore together and to be creative without the limits of a strict timeline.
Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy! I am so excited to capture your Summer wedding next year!
