This couple and I go way back.

Zach and I first met when he was in high school and I was leading Young Life at Cary High School. We were at Summer Camp and people kept coming up to me saying “There is someone here who looks just like your brother.” It wasn’t my brother, but instead it was Zach and back then (without a mustache) he really did look just like my brother. Flash forward a couple years and Zach was a freshman in college at NC State. He was going through College Life and hoping to become a Young Life leader. Jamie and I were engaged and looking for someone to make a little video of us for our wedding website and someone recommended that I ask Zach. A couple texts and emails later, Zach was scheduled to come down to Pine Knoll Shores to get some video footage during our engagement session with Will and Nancy. We were pumped! A couple days before the shoot, Zach texted me and asked if his girlfriend could come along with him. Of course, we said yes! Shy Kasey came along with Zach and maybe said one or two words to us the whole time! Little did we know that she would become our intern a year later!

This session was so much fun for me! With Kasey being a photographer herself and having been behind the camera a couple of times, this session was so easy and fun. Kasey emailed me and encouraged me to pick a location that I have been wanting to try for a while, but haven’t had the chance yet. Immediately, Merritt’s pasture came to mind! It’s about a 15 minute walk from the parking lot and I knew that I would need a couple that would be up for an adventure, and Zach and Kasey were the perfect fit!

Zach and Kasey, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to capture this special time in your lives. I can’t wait for your wedding next Saturday! It’s finally here!
