In one day I drove from Raleigh to Asheville, photographed for one hour, then hopped back in the car and drove back to Raleigh; and let me tell you — it was SO worth it. Holly and Justin live in California, so we knew we would be trying to schedule their engagement session around one of the visits they had planned to Raleigh. (Brides and grooms, if you live in another state as your photographer, I highly recommend still trying to find a time to do an engagement session. Whether that is during a visit or even the week of your wedding. It will totally be worth it!) With that in mind, we figured we would try to schedule it during a time that Holly and Justin were in Asheville visiting his family, because they love the mountains and the beautiful back drop it provides. And the mountain skyline did not disappoint.

I met them at the very top of the mountain, and it was covered in fog. We could barely even see two feet in front of us. So we jumped in the car and drove back down, stopping anytime I saw beautiful light and fall trees filled with golds, reds, and bright oranges. The time spent with these two was so natural. We talked a lot about their life in California, their wedding day and the plans they have made, and even how they would be spending their remaining time in NC not talking about their wedding, ha!

I am so thankful to my couples that make the time to do an engagement session; it makes their wedding day that much easier and sweeter, knowing that we have already established a connection. Holly and Justin, I can’t wait for your wedding day, and all the beautiful images that are to come, but for now, I hope you love these!
