I truly wish every session could be this wonderful.
I drove two hours to meet Emily and Todd at this secret, beautiful spot in Wilmington, and goodness was it worth every minute. The setting was an absolute dream. Spanish moss, water, beautiful bridges, boats, trees, and beautiful light. If I could custom order an engagement session to look a certain way, this would be exactly what I want.
But do you want to know something even better than the beautiful session and lovely light? Emily and Todd. Two of my new most favorite people. There is a sweetness and humility and love about this couple that is tangible. They draw you in with their gracious Southern personalities. Todd is the ultimate southern gentlemen who also happens to love photography (amazing!), and Emily is the sweetest thing I’ve ever met. She genuinely cares about those around her, thanking me profusely for driving the extra distance, asking me about my little girl, and bragging on Todd the whole time. I kept thinking to myself, “Their friends are so lucky.” I think anyone who has Todd and Emily in their lives are so blessed.
I’ve heard through the grapevine that Emily has been following my photography for several years, and I have to say – that is the biggest compliment of all. To have a bride that already knows me and my work before we even met for her engagement session is so humbling for me. It brought me so much joy to really get to know someone who has been following my work and my life for some time!
At one point in the session, Todd looked at me and said, “It must be amazing to do what you do. To take pictures as your job.” I had one of those moments that left me so undone and grateful after the session. I drove home from with a heart overflowing with gratitude, thanking the Lord for wonderful clients and work that I love so much.
Emily and Todd, to say I’m excited about your wedding is an understatement. I literally cannot WAIT!
