One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is listening to the bride and groom read their vows to each other during their ceremony. Whether they are the traditional vows or vows that they have written themselves, I love watching the emotion on each of their faces as they hear their beloved’s promises. Ellie and Nick’s vows were some of the sweetest words I have ever heard.
“I vow to live with transparency, sharing my greatest joys and my deepest sorrows with you as well as everything in between, even when it feels messy and out of control. I vow to lavish my love upon you in the ways you feel and understand love. I vow to have an eternal perspective, knowing that God’s love and grace doesn’t end with us, but is meant to flow through us to others. I vow to seek gratitude and thankfulness in all things as the Lord draws us together and toward himself. Knowing that I am incapable of these things on my own, I vow to seek the Lord first abiding in His love, saturating everything in prayer, and living out of His grace rather than striving in vain for perfection.”
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Dalton Alford on a joyful celebration of your marriage! May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you. May He turn His face toward you, and give you peace.
