Elizabeth and Duke casually through mutual friends at NC State, but one night when Elizabeth needed a last minute date to a sorority function, a friend officially set them up! Elizabeth told me that it was a complete disaster and she didn’t even hear from him! A week later, she randomly noticed that she had an unread Facebook message that was Duke apologizing for the awkward evening and asked her if he could make it up to her with dinner. She accepted and the rest was history! I love their story not only because it had a funny beginning, but because it goes to prove that you just never know what could happen if you give someone a second chance!
They decided to have their engagement session on Duke’s family farm in FarmVille, NC and I loved every minute of it. From the moment that we pulled up to the old barn, I knew that this session would be so special. As we explored around the property, Duke told me all about the land and how it has been a part of his family for a long time. I loved seeing his face light up as he talked about it. (Fun fact: He even lived on the property in the adorable small house with the blue door for a little bit after college!) Duke works for his family’s construction business and Elizabeth is an interior designer – she has incredible taste! Similar to Jamie and me, they both share a huge passion for houses, design and architecture. They make a great pair and I can’t wait to see all that they construct and design in the future as a couple.
Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Duke Edwards! I can’t wait for your wedding this Fall!
