I got a text from Brittany while I was waiting to photograph a NYC engagement session, saying, “What!? You’re in New York City?! I would have booked you for a newborn session if I had known!!!” After exchanging a few more texts and rearranging a few plans, I was heading to her apartment the very next morning. I was greeted with hot coffee and scones, a lit candle and the coziest little bundle of a newborn baby boy you ever saw.
I could cry every time I look at these photos. There’s something so sacred about the moments that I get to share with couples days after they become parents, but it’s a thousand times more special when I also had the privilege of capturing their wedding day. I also have a fun, adventurous travel theme going with the Werth Family: they got married in Nashville, and I just captured their newborn session in New York City! (You should also know they still hold my record for the coldest engagement session I’ve ever photographed at 17 degrees!)
My heart just overflows watching clients turn into friends, then those friends turn into parents. Doug is incredible at his job and they’ll soon be taking their adventurous family to Chicago, while Brittany continues to work for my friend Emily Ley and embrace the new role of being a working mama. I admire this sweet family and love them to pieces. Brittany and Doug, you make awesome parents. Baby Douglas is so incredibly lucky to have you.

This is the sweetest little session! I adore the simplicity! And that blue blanket! So sweet!!!
