You know how it is growing up, when you go over to a friends house for a sleepover and her mama becomes like a second mama to you, so comforting and kind, making the yummiest food, and being the constant presence in the home that makes you feel grounded? That was Mama Pat for me. I would go over to my best friend Sam’s house countless times for sleepovers and hanging out, and Mama Pat would always be there. To feel like I’m part of a family (adopted via friendship) for over 15 years (crazy!!), and then to be asked to photograph Mama Pat’s 70th birthday photos, was like having my two best worlds colliding all at once. My childhood memories meets my work today = all the happiness I could muster! To capture this legacy, Mama Pat and her husband and her beautiful girls (one of which is Sam, my bff), all their spouses and all her grandchildren… it was just so sweet.
What an honor it is to capture seasons of life and families of all ages. Mama Pat, I just love you! You are definitely worth celebrating and I hope you feel so loved in these photos!
