Well folks, I think this just might be my favorite session to date. When we talk to couples about engagement sessions, we often tell them how it is such a unique time for us to get to know them as their photographer, and also for them to feel comfortable in front of the camera before their wedding day. I always encourage couples to make it more laid back and relaxing, and maybe even choose an activity they love to do together. So when Blair and I talked about their engagement session and she mentioned they would be home visiting her family one weekend, we knew this would be a great time to schedule it. She said she wanted to feel comfortable and just enjoy coffee with her husband-to-be, in her parent’s sunroom. I was pumped. Not only did I already love Blair and Nick as a couple, but this is exactly what we want this session to be for couples.
So a few Saturdays ago, I headed over to Blair’s parent’s home in Durham to spend the morning with these two as they had their morning coffee and sat together. I didn’t even have to pose them because they are so natural together. You could tell they were truly just spending this morning the way they would spend any morning together. Blair is beautiful and effortless and Nick makes her laugh and adores her. Capturing the two of them was easy and fun. It inspired me in the work that I do, that often the simple and relaxed is the most beautiful.
Give me all the morning coffee, sunporch sitting, engagement sessions! Blair and Nick, thank you for inviting me into your home and spending the morning with me, I can’t wait for your wedding day!
