Beth and I worked together in the same department at Biogen a few years ago, just a few cubicles down from one another. Generally speaking, our goal was to support patients with Multiple Sclerosis; Beth did this primarily by talking to patients on the phone – asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine interest in their daily trials and successes. I remember hearing bits and pieces of Beth’s conversations and thinking, “This girl is SO sweet, so genuine, and so thoughtful to be talking to complete strangers like this”. The more I got to know her, the more those things rang true. That’s just Beth… I’m not sure I’ve ever met someone more instantly personable. We’ve both since left our jobs at Biogen, so I was extremely excited when she reached out to me to photograph this special time for she and her husband Shawn.

I hadn’t seen her in a couple of years, but it didn’t seem like that long. Since I knew Beth and was excited to catch up, I went ahead and brought my husband along to our session, as well as our Dozer pup. The 5 of us strolled through Annie Wilkerson Park and had a great time chatting and stopping for photos in the beautiful evening light.

Spoiler alert: Beth and Shawn had their little baby girl, Charlotte Olivia, about 2 weeks ago (just a few weeks after this session!) I did their newborn session just last week, and OH. MY. GOODNESS. y’all just get ready for the sweetness. Much more to come from this precious family!
