You know that particular look that the sky has when a week of cloud cover finally breaks up right around the time the sun rises? Lots of colors, bold beams of light, contrasted against dark clouds scattered overhead? Let’s just say if you had been driving on Capital on Saturday morning at about 7:30, you may have seen me grinning from ear to ear and staring off at the sky. I was heading to photograph the Barger’s Maternity session that had been rescheduled from the afternoon before because continuous cloud cover just really bummed us all out and we heard the sun would finally come out the next morning. Turns out we made the right call!
I met Jason and Jessica at the JC Raulston Arboretum, the same place that she did her Bridal Portraits 7 years earlier. We hit some of the same spots that she used for her bridal portraits and talked about the last 7 years and some of what that time contained for them. They are thrilled beyond belief to be expecting their first little one on June 10, and are intentionally waiting to find out the sex of the baby to go against their own grain as self-admitted planners – I love that! Right now, they’re just enjoying time with each other as well as the anticipation of the big surprise ahead, and loving on their little one, who they call “Baby B”.
We walked all around the Arboretum, stopping here and there for pictures, and getting to know each other while the clouds weaved in and out of the light. I left the session that morning with the feeling of excitement and anticipation… in just a couple short months I’ll see them again for a newborn session, this time with the surprise revealed and Baby B in their arms!
Jason and Jessica – I am beyond excited for you guys and can’t wait to meet Baby B! See you in just a couple short months… it’ll be here before you know it!
