The thought of writing a blogpost about this family overwhelms me. They’re the Benson’s… Lindsey and Chad… they’re two of me and Robert’s best friends.
Lindsey and I have known each other for about 16 years, which sounds crazy to say. We hung out one time about mid-way through college (I’m going to pretend like that wasn’t 10 years ago), and that was that. That spurred countless days and nights of hanging out: concerts, parties, girls nights, shopping, trips to the beach… you name it. Lindsey got to be a bestie real fast. Then the boys came along. Double dates, more parties, weddings, more beach trips, all four of us. Over the years, Robert and I grew to treasure their friendship as a couple very dearly.
I knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that Lindsey and Chad were going to be amazing as parents. Together, they are grounded. They love to love on their family and friends. They’re both sentimental, and the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. They love life, and they don’t take for granted the little moments. Robert and I neither one have ever heard them speak a serious negative word about the other. In fact, of all of our couple friends, we look up to Lindsey and Chad as two of the most encouraging and life giving people, to each other first and also to others. They’re both anchored in their Faith, and their lives overflow with that evidence.
So, duh. Of course they were going to be amazing parents.
And now Bailey Claire… sweet Bailey Claire. My heart grew four sizes when I met her for the first time. So far she’s got Lindsey’s hair color, Chad’s super chill demeanor, she loves to be held and cuddled, and she thinks her daddy is the funniest thing on earth. Even at just a couple of weeks old, his voice and the sight of his face makes her light up with laughter. It is the cutest.
I could go on and on, but I suppose I’ll just leave everyone with these images. We just love this family so much (in case you can’t tell already), and are so grateful for the blessing of Bailey Claire.
