I have loved the tradition of doing photo swaps with photographer friends of mine once a year. We’ve had several friends photograph us! (The Lannings, The Schultzes, Caroline Joy, and now the Terhunes!) Every year I get on the other side of the camera, I learn what every couple goes through when I photograph them: choosing an outfit, deciding on a hairstyle, finding a location, and most importantly – what makes me comfortable in front of the camera. It is such a valuable experience – watching and learning from other photographers: how they shoot, relate with their clients, and how they capture their subjects & light.
This year, Graham and Samantha Terhune, our sweet friends from Chapel Hill, agreed to do an all-film session swap! We asked them to take casual photos of us around Fearrington Village when we stayed there to celebrate our 5th Anniversary in June. I couldn’t be happier with these sweet film images. Thank you, Graham and Sam for these priceless memories!
I photographed their sweet maternity session this week, fulfilling my end of the swap. Can’t wait to share those images in a few weeks! And I especially can’t wait to meet Baby T in December.
And to my sweet husband of 5+ years… I’m excited to eat ice cream with you the rest of my life. I love you!
