When we got an inquiry for a wedding at The White Sparrow Barn I was SO pumped. This venue has been on my bucket list for a little while, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph here. What I didn’t know, was that The White Sparrow Barn would end up being the least amazing part of Alicia and Rob’s wedding. From the very first email I received from these two, I knew there was something very different about them. They were so kind, and attentive to the needs of each other and all of their vendors during their wedding planning process. However, even better than their tender hearts, was their love for the Lord. These two overflowed with a light for Christ that is incomparable to any other wedding I have ever had the privilege of capturing. Alicia and Rob’s ceremony was a worship service, completely centered around honoring the Lord in their new union. You could feel God’s presence in the barn. I have goosebumps just thinking about it now.
They celebrated everyone at their wedding, not just the two of them. Rob’s best man happened to be celebrating his tenth wedding anniversary that day, so they honored them by playing their first dance song and allowing them to relive that day. One of Alicia’s bridesmaids also happened to have a birthday that same day, so they celebrated her with a special birthday song and cupcake. I could go on and on about the ways these two loved others on their wedding day, but that would take all day. There is no other explanation for how wonderful Alicia and Rob are other than the fact that they know Jesus on such a deep level, they radiate that love in everything they do.
Alicia and Rob, being apart of your wedding day was one of my biggest honors. I truly know Jesus better because I got to capture your wedding day. Thank you for shining your light for Christ and loving others the way that you do.
