As many of you know, I post goals for my life and business once a month, on the first day of the month here on my blog. Ever since I began posting my goals on my blog, I never intended to do this alone - I want YOU doing this with me. If you have a blog, the challenge this year is this:
In 2013, post your goals on the first of every month, then leave a comment below the post including the link to your goals.
2013 is going to be big. And I'm calling you to action with me - all year this time! This is a time for you to step it up, to own your life, to put your goals into writing and to go after them. Yes, it's vulnerable to put goals on your blog for everyone to see, but that's the point. We need to keep each other accountable.
I truly didn't take ownership of my life until I began doing this. I'm not kidding. I didn't begin reading the books I really wanted to, I didn't get healthy, I didn't change my business by making a "resolution" to "do better." My life changed when I wrote down measurable goals at the beginning of the year, then at the beginning of each month. Writing down goals monthly is bigger than a New Year's resolution - and it's more attainable.
So, if you are IN this with me, here are 3 things for you to do today in order to prepare for 2013:
1. Make a 2013 Goals List in your journal.
Or on a sheet a paper if you don't have a journal. It's vitally important that you write these down. Write it all out - no matter how big or small. Whether you want to stop drinking diet coke or go skydiving, write it down. Let your goals stare back at you in your own handwriting; it's powerful.
2. Choose your January Goals based on your overall 2013 vision.
Now break down a few of these yearly goals into bite-sized goals for January. Measurable goals. Don't try to do everything at once - pace yourself.
3. Write down your to-do list in your calendar, and do them.
Now put them in your calendar for January! Put a deadline on them. It's so important to do this step - to turn them into a physical action.
So, are you ready for 2013 to be your best year yet? Then roll up your sleeves and get ready! Don't let 2013 happen to you. I want you to happen to 2013. For a look back at 2012, and another wonderful preparation tool for 2013, go read Lara's challenge too. In fact, it would be better for you to do both challenges together! (I know I am!)
See you on January 1st, where I'll be sharing my yearly goals + my January goals! Cheers to 2013!
