I love Boone, North Carolina... especially in the summer. You should have seen how excited I was when I booked this wedding! A wedding at Chetola, in August? Perfection. Zach and Laura share the same love for Boone that Will and I have, since they both graduated from Appstate. They understand that summers in Boone are warm, beautiful, and free of humidity. The weekend of their wedding was cool and cloudy, even though it was in August. I was thrilled to be capturing this couple's sweet day.
The sprinkles began as the ladies were getting ready, and then they disappeared. Everyone thought we were safe from the rain, even though it was still pretty cloudy. The guests sat down outside in front of a beautiful pond, and literally just after everyone was seated, it began sprinkling again. One, two, three bridesmaids began walking down the aisle as it picked up little by little. Sweet Laura walked down the aisle with her dad under an umbrella... all smiles :].
And this is when I really got to know this couple. Most everyone would cry and be upset it was raining on their wedding day. Most brides would, and understandably so. However, Zach could not keep his eyes off of his bride, and he was beaming. Laura had the biggest smile I've ever seen... she was overflowing with joy! No amount of rain could affect this couple's love for one another. Nothing could shake the joy of their wedding day. They were getting married, and as soon as they saw one another, everything around them disappeared... even the rain. If you ask me, that's the kind of love that will last... through anything.
They moved the ceremony underneath the reception tent, and thankfully the rain eventually cleared up. It ended up being the most perfect day, in every way. Rain is good luck on your wedding day, right? Zach and Laura, congratulations on such a beautiful and memorable celebration!

Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Luffman!

Ahhhh I love everything about this wedding! Absolutely beautiful!!
Gorgeous pics from a rainy day! We lived in Chetola in August! And every weekend we spied the weddings setting up and wondered if the rain would hold out! Had no idea you were there shooting! We live in a hoise a mile from Chetola now until our next move Oct 1, but we agree, this area is perfect for a summer wedding.
What a GORGEOUS bride! So joyful! These are stunning, Nancy.
