Last week, I was really nervous about a situation I had to face. One way to get your mind off track and distracted is to focus on what is worrying you. Thankfully, I picked up my devotional book Jesus Calling and read what it had to say, just as I was about to head out the door for a 5 mile run. It was 6:30am.
"Meet Me in early morning splendor. I eagerly await you here. In the stillness of this holy time with Me, I renew your strength and saturate you with Peace. While others turn over for extra sleep or anxiously tune in to the latest news, you commune with the Creator of the universe. I have awakend in your heart strong desire to know Me. This longing originated in Me, though it now burns brightly in you.
When you seek My Face in response to My Love-call, both of us are blessed. This is a deep mystery, designed more for your enjoyment than for your understanding. I am not a dour God who discourages pleasure. I delight in your enjoyment of everything that is true, noble, right pure, lovely, admirable. Thing on these things, and My Light in you will shine brighter day by day." [Aug 16 - Jesus Calling]
After reading the words "I renew your strength and saturate you with Peace," I made a choice to walk in Peace. Listening to the words of the Lord and choosing to walk in Peace is truly what got me through last week. And guess what? That thing I was worrying about - it turned out just fine!
This week's Runday Monday Challenge : Choose a devotional, and read it. Before you do anything else to start your day, listen the voice of the Lord. He is for you in all that you do. And if God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Nancy, I just love Jesus Calling, too! A friend gave it to me when I was going through some things and it has been such a blessing to me. I have also given it to several people. I’m so glad that your situation turned out even better than you expected!
The Jesus Calling is my devotional right now too! I love it. There is also more devotions like Jesus Calling by the same author Sarah Young if you finish that one!
My future Mother In Law gave me this book for Easter. It is a wonderful book and brings hope to me. I have had to turn to it a lot this week. May 11th is my favorite.
John and I love “A Year with C.S. Lewis”!
I LOVE that devotional! It always speaks to what I’m going through each day! It’s amazing and so comforting/uplifting!
I am going through Kelly Minter’s Nehemiah with about 13 ladies from my church and other area churches. There are 5 days of study a week and UH! I just have loved it. Let me tell you, there are some awesome truths in this little unexpectedly applicable book of Nehemiah. I confess I did not know what Nehemiah was about before starting this study, and it has become a treasure to my soul. I just love in-depth studies on single books of the Bible. Beth Moore is also awesome – I loved her Esther, Isaiah and Daniel. Kelly’s are a little lighter, but still so enriching.
