A few weeks ago, Will and I traveled to Highlands, North Carolina for a beautiful wedding at the Old Edwards Inn. Our favorite thing to do as a couple is travel to places we've never been before, and we had heard wonderful things about this quaint little mountain town. We absolutely loved our time there! We lengthened our stay in order to take advantage of the Old Edwards Spa (which was incredible), and to relax a bit in the height of wedding season. Here are some of the highlights from our trip, in case you ever want to visit :

Staying at Main Street Inn (adorable rooms, delicious breakfast)
Enjoying lunch at Mountain Fresh Grocery, and purchasing locally roasted coffee beans as a souvenir (drinking it now as I type!)
Walking the streets of downtown Highlands and browsing shops
Kilwin's ice cream and chocolates
Madison's : The main restaurant at OEI. The dining experience was incredible!
The Spa at Old Edwards Inn

Exploring the beautiful Old Edwards Inn:

LOVE him:

Main Street Inn : Our room!

Our evening at Madison's :

On our way home (a beautiful drive through Cullasaja Gorge), we couldn't help but stop at this little rickety bridge. It was so fun exploring on the way down the mountain!

Have you been to Highlands, or have I now convinced you to go? If you've been, what were your favorites?
